ASTRON 2B03 Chapter Notes - Chapter 2: Biological Warfare
Document Summary
After the first tutorial discussion about colonizing mars, it was evident that the consensus of the tutorial group was against the colonization of mars. This was mainly due to causing potential harm to martian life forms and the martian environment (stemwedel, 2015). However, there has been no evidence of life forms on mars as of yet. Scientists predicted that due to the evidence that suggested that rivers, lakes, and seas covered the surface of mars billions of years ago, there is potential for microbial bacteria (choi, 2017). This has not been proved yet, and it should not prevent us from exploring the planet, and trying to colonize it. Furthermore, no one will know if the newly found life on mars is actually life that was originally on mars, or if it was life that was brought by us humans from the numerous mars missions.
