What is organismal ecology: studies the morphological, behavioral, and physiological adaptations, which permit individual organisms to survive in a specific area, biologist study ecology at four main levels, organismal ecology: how do individuals interact with their environment. Ex. salmon migrate upstream from saltwater to freshwater environments to breed. They have the ability to sense and detect the chemicals in the water, and imprint in those environments in the suspended water: population ecology: how and why population size changes over time. Each female salmon produces thousands of eggs, only a few will survive to adulthood. On average only 2 will return to the stream of their birth and breed: community ecology: how do species interact, and what are the consequences.
