Publics are paying more attention to organization and expect them to give something back to the community in addition to openly communication about their business. Change in expectations is driven by availability of communications technology. Human beings have intrinsic worth as they"re guided by reason, unlike animals and therefore can ensure the existence of moral goodness. Promoting peoples welfare & rights, treating them w/ respect, not manipulating/deceving them, respecting individuals own rational capabilities and letting make their own decisions: utilitarianism (jeremy bentham) Judges circumstances by their consequence, that is the amount of happiness or unhappiness created, and everyones happiness has the same value. Utilitarians choose the action w/ the best overall consequences. Expression: greatest good for the greatest number meaning the end justi es the means.
