Human developmental theories are models intended to account for how and why people develop as they do. Mechanisms of development- explanatory component of each theory, means by which developmental- explanatory components of each theory theoretic focus on organism itself- development is a result of biologically driven behaviour and persons. 1. biophysical developmental theories- describe and explain how physical body grows and changes- changes occur as person from fetus to child and adult. Involves individuals biological ability, psychological condition and desire tolerant more mature behavior: differentiation- process by which cells and structures become modifies and refine their characteristics - Child relinquishes crawling for walking because walking permits more investigation development of activities and functions progresses from simple-complex: embryonic cells begin as vague undifferentiated. Chess/thomas-temperament physical and emotional response affects child"s interaction with others.
