Readings 4- rawls: a theory of justice pg. Society and its institutions are the primary subject of justice because its effects are profound to all. The social positions we are born into effect men"s initial chances in life. It is the equalities that are inevitable to us in the basic structure of social society to which the principles of social injustice apply. 1: the problem of justice: the principles for the basic structure of justice do not hold for all cases: May not work for private associations or for less comprehensive social groups. Principles for laws in different nations may require different conditions: examining the principles of justice that would regulate a well-ordered society: At this point in society, nobody knows his / her place / position or social status. In the state of nature, the principles of justice are chosen behind a veil of ignorance this ensures that no one is advantaged or disadvantaged by the outcome of chance.
