Personality hides within the individual inferences about personality occur from things that can be observed. Funder"s third law: something beats nothing, two times out if three. There are four kinds of clues to understandings personality: s data are self-judgments which are straightforward and simple. S data have what is called face validity (they are intended to measure what they seem to measure. Gives you a lot of information, access to thoughts, feelings and intentions. Some kinds of data are true to their definition. Truth by definition and is also a reflection of the social world: l data (life): verifiable, concrete, real-life facts that may hold psychological significance. Unfortunately is multidimensional: behaviour data: behaviour is observed which can be gathered in natural or contrived contexts.
