Forensic psychology a field of psychology that deals with all aspects of human behaviour as it relates to law or legal system. Forensic psychology and the legal system portrayed in the media inaccurately: media exaggerates or glamourizes forensics, reality fiction is a constructed version of reality with its own biases, rather than a neutral record . Forensic psychologists interested in understanding the mechanisms that underlie people"s thoughts, feelings, and actions (how people function) in a legal context. Forensic psychology has relatively short history, dating back roughly to the late nineteenth century. Cattell experiments leading to psychology of eyewitness testimony: asked college students to recall things they had witnessed in everyday life, results: answers were inaccurate, and relationship between ps accuracy and confidence was far from perfect.
