In addition to their economic success, the guarani were a relatively egalitarian society in which a person"s place in society was determined by kinship. Leadership was usually determined by age, although political leaders had little or no power of coercion over others. Guarani agroforestry focuses on 3 activities: horticulture, hunting, To earn cash, they collect yerba mate leaves, animal skins, oils and and gathering food.
