Haeffel studied adolescence boys attending a residential juvenile delinquent detention facility: 98% sample was of russian ancestry. Looked for environmental and genetic differences between depressed and not depressed youths: result: found no impact of both genes and environment. Environment and genotype lead to outcomes: there was findings of genotype-environment (mother rejection) occurring. When looked at by the study, genotype 1 and 2 were not affected by environment while 3 was, giving them a higher chance of depression. Predicted related outcomes but not unrelated outcomes. Difficult to find effects of genes on personality traits. How do environment and genes work together to form us: behavioural genetics: study of genetic and environmental contribution to individual differences in personality and behaviour. Human behaviour and personality is an inextricable combination of both genetics and environment that can work: separately. Genes and environment ay each have unique contribution but it in parallel (same time) Gene and environment = co-actors: together.
