Mad identity/experiences - people can"t just get it . Think of how aesthetic markers for disability can change and unsettle art world. Experiences are part of their identity, not just a medical diagnosis. Identifying as mad, deaf, sick, disabled, crip = political act. Multiple identities, exist @ intersections of many communities. Not all artists with disabilities identify with movement of disability arts/culture. Often conversations focus only on access and inclusion, but it"s problematic to center discussion on this.
