B2b marketing is the process of buying & selling g+s to be used in the production of other g+s, for consumption by the buying org or for resale by wholesalers & retailers. Involves manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers & service firms that market g+s to other businesses but not to the ultimate consumer. The distinction b/w b2b & b2c is the ultimate purchaser/user of the g+s. B2b firms focus their efforts on serving specific types of customer markets to create value for those customers. Many firms find it more productive to focus their efforts on key industries/market segments vs. ultimate consumers. Basically, manufacturers, resellers, institutions & govts are all involved in b2b transactions. Manufacturers/producers: buys raw materials, components & parts that allow them to manufacture their own goods.
