E. g. hormone cholecystokinin inhibits gastric emptying, gastrin stimulates. Secrete hormones directly into the bloodstream and carry out function at a specific site. Secrete substances into the interstitial fluid, which travel by diffusion, and only affect nearby cells. Vestibule: the space between the outer surface of the teeth and lips/cheeks.
