Identify the part that activities play in parental strategies for class reproduction. Consumption and learning activities are highly classed. Enrichment activities are a response to the anxiety and sense of responsibility experiences by middle-class parents as they attempt to make up a middle class child. Reproduction strategies making the new middle class. Making up refers to consumer culture, parental awareness of fluctuations in education and labour markets and parents perceptions of congestion and competition. Interviews consisted of 57 mothers and 14 fathers (59 middle class families) Extra"s offered in day care (french, music, yoga) Parents often want to give their child a head start in life but unfortunately they often start them on activities when they are too young.
