There has always been a debate about motherhood and work. Most are pleased to choose whether they wish to work or stay home now in this era. It is less stress as they no longer have to feel that their employment is harming their children. It was not until the 19th century that the child"s development and well being came to be viewed as one of the most important factors of a mother"s responsibility while in the decline of domestic protection. For example, during the (cid:498)colonial period(cid:499) women decade before it was not exclusively a female task. These developments occurred due to changes within the economy and the need for education and money increased. One major factor that influenced the mothers role is the idea that surrounds the were solely devoted to house work and manufacturing that they could devote their full time to being a mother.
