PSYCH211 Chapter Notes - Chapter 5: Dynamical System, Actual Size, Proprioception
Document Summary
Learning refers to changes in behaviour as a result of experience. There are 2 types of learning which babies learn by observing others and can imitate the facial expressions and gestures of adults. It involves a neutral stimulus is paired with a stimulus that leads to a reflexive response. Once the nervous system makes the connection between the two stimuli, the neural stimulus produces the behaviour by itself. If learning has occurred, the neutral stimulus alone produces a response similar to the reflexive response. The neutral stimulus is then called the conditioned stimulus (cs) and the response it elicits is called the conditioned response (cr) Extinction occurs when the conditioned response is not paired with the unconditioned response for a long enough time and then it will not occur anymore. Association when presenting stimuli is more learnable when they attribute to.
