Document Summary

Chapter 4 - truth telling & con dentiality - my thoughts on class discussion. Argument: physicians shouldn"t be inclined to tell the whole truth to patients because patients wouldn"t understand it anyways. That being said, he were the average people at one time whoo were taught or shown or learned everything they do now. I think the patient had the right to the option to know everything there is to know about their own body and it should then be the physicians job to help facilitate that. This doesn"t mean they have to know so much they could become a specialist on it or right their mcat but have the facts they need to make relevant decisions. Example: my mom rides horses and she pulled a muscle in her hip doing so. She went to the doctor who told her she"d pulled her hip adductor and she taped it and gave her care instructions and sent her on her way.
