Defamiliarizing the situation ->means distancing themselves analytical to the usual and normal practices of daily life. Marxist theories- are critical of the power of medicine. Theory also examine how power functions within society from different perspectives so feminists- are critical of male dominated medical power. Interactionists- concerned with doctor-patient relationships at the micro level.
