Sociology is described as the science of society and using sociological imagination to examine aspects of health and illness. > it involves looking beyond the subjective perceptions. Defamiliarizing the situation ->means distancing themselves analytical to the usual and normal practices of daily life. Marxist theories- are critical of the power of medicine. Theory also examine how power functions within society from different perspectives so feminists- are critical of male dominated medical power. Interactionists- concerned with doctor-patient relationships at the micro level.
