The article i choose this week is called transgender americans still face workplace discrimination despite progress . This article basically talks about the opportunities and experiences of transgender people in the workplace. Transgender people have made significant progress and their rights have changed over time. The human rights did an annual assessment of policies for lgbt people and it showed fortune 500 companies now include transgender inclusive benefits. However, even though we have come a long way from where our society began there is still some hurdles that remain. Legal scholars have shown that transgender people overall earn less and are more likely to be unemployed. They are also found to be more likely to be fired and passed over for promotion. So, as time goes on studies show that peoples attitudes are beginning to change however, it is still important to continue to improve and implement rules to create equality.
