Document Summary

The brain is the center of consciousness and also controls all voluntary and involuntary movement and bodily functions, and communicates with each part of the body through the nervous system, a network of channels that carry electrochemical signals. Nervous system development across the human lifespan: nervous system is the body"s network for electrochemical communication. This system includes all the nerves cells in the body, The central nervous system(cns): the neuron inside the brain: central nervous system is the portion of the nervous system that includes the brain and spinal cord, neurons are individual brain cells. Synapses is junction between the presynaptic terminal button of one neuron and the dendrite, axon, or soma of another postsynaptic neuron. The three main components of a neuron are the dendrites, the soma, and the axon. Neurons communicate with one another by receiving information through the dendrites, which act as an antenna.
