Psychosocial development is the combinaion of emoional and social development. During infancy, interacions with sensiive, responsive caregivers foster psychosocial development. Early emoional development follows age-graded norms, that are related to physical and cogniive development. First year infants have a smaller range of emoions when they are not yet mobile compared to their second year of life. Anger emerges later (as early as 4 months) usually triggered by frustraion (goal atainment is blocked) . 10-14 months: separaion anxiety typically expressed in tears or anger when a beloved caregiver leaves, even for just a few minutes. Fear and anger, laughing and crying become more discriminaing and targeted . Laughing and crying also become more discriminaing . New emoions appear mid to end of second year: pride, shame, embarrassment, guilt, these emoions require a sense of self and of what others think, some cultural variaion (shame and pride)
