Whitehall studies: two studies undertaken between 1967-88 that offered insight into how class and health are correlated: carried out by epidemiologist marmot, rose, shipley and hamilton, low status = lower health. 2nd whitehall study capture stress at work in 3 different dimensions: effort-reward imbalance, job strain, organizational-justice-fairness of decision making process and interpersonal relationships in the workplace: linked to heart disease and other types of illness.
