When he awoke, his olfactory senses were stronger than usual. After 100 hours without sleep, he became to experience hallucinations. After 170 hours, he struggled to maintain contact with reality and often questioned who he was. Randy gardner stayed awake for 11 days and just got very sleepy. Perhaps peter had a few problems before the experiment: life and hard times of sarah- underwent sexual assault, physical abuse, and insults at home. She became sexually active at a young age, entered abusive relationships, worked as a hooker, and travelled all over the place trying to find herself. By the end of it all, she managed to cope and develop a relatively healthy lifestyle.
