Model is mixture of ideas and concepts taken from any number of theories and used together. Construct: when concept is adopted for use in a specific theory. Institutional/organizational factors: community factors, public policy factors. Continuum theory: bct that identify variable which influence actions and combine them into a single equation that predicts likelihood of action: quantitative. Focus on factors within individual such as attitudes, beliefs, feelings, self-concept, past experiences, motivation skills, and behaviour. Frequency of behaviour determined by reinforcement that follow behaviour . Used for volitional behaviours (behaviours that can be performed at will). Intention: indication of person"s readiness to perform a given behaviour. Attitude toward the behaviour: degree to which performance of the behaviour is positively or negatively valued. Person with strong beliefs about positive outcomes from performing the behaviour will have positive attitude toward behaviour. Subjective norm: perceived social pressure to engage or not engage in behaviour.
