Typically muscles near have the same nerve innervation due to the same embryonic origins. Often muscles are named after where they attach or what function they perform. Each muscle has a primary and secondary function. Some muscles are name after location, attachment and origins shape also influences the function of the muscles. Not all muscles have attachments to bone, some attach to skin and soft tissue. Provides us with the ability to express a wide variety of emotions -they originate from the fascia of the skull and insert into the skin.
