Some constructs describe aspects of the tangible world, such as distance (near versus far), or temperature (cold versus hot), whereas other constructs describe more psychological aspects of the world, such as pleasant versus unpleasant. Kelly viewed all persons as personal scientists. A personal scientist, like a professional scientist, has constructs that serve as hypotheses about the world, and these constructs are tested and revised with the goal of finding a greater sense of order in the world. Kelly"s conception of persons as scientists is based on the philosophical position that all human constructions are imperfect and subject to revision or replacement.
