June 1969, the first time gay, lesbian, and transgender individuals fought back against police harassment. Every year there is a gay pride day in most cities across north america. Transgender refers to gender identity and not sexual identity or sexual identity. There may be conflict between people sexual-identity and their actual choice of sexual partners. Sexual identity refers to onces self-identity as gay, heterosexual, bisexual, or asexual. Example men will identify with heterosexuality, but receive oral sex from another male. Sexual orientation whom we are emotionally, romantically, and sexually attracted to. Lesbian traced back to the greek poet sappho, who lived on the island of lesbos. Women will identify as bisexual, but have experienced only sex with men. Some people identify as being asexual, but occasionally have sex with men or women. She is famous for her love poetry that she wrote to other women. Often changes in response to relationship experiences.
