The term used for the main way of thinking about god comes from the greek word theos. Atheism the belief that there is no god of any kind. Agnosticism the belief that we do not have sufficient reason to either affirm or deny. Naturalism theory that every aspect of human experience can be adequately described and accounted for in terms of our existence as social and intelligent animals whose life is organic to our material in the environment. Deism the idea of an absentee god who long ago set the universe in motion and has thereafter left it alone. Or the idea of a god as a historical term to the position of the 18th century english deists who taught that natural theology alone is religiously sufficient. Theism belief in a deity but is generally used to mean belief in a personal deity.
