Document Summary
Discussion of ecological levels partly based on urie bronfenbrenner"s approach. Thinking in ecological level terms helps us clarify how a single event/problem has multiple causes. Most proximal systems (closest to individual/most face to face contact) are closer to centre of diagram. More distal systems (less immediate yet having broad effects) are toward outside of diagram. Individuals, societies, and the levels between them are interdependent. Person chooses his or her relationships and influences them in many ways, they also influence the person. Environments in which the person repeatedly engages in direct, personal interaction with others. Families, classrooms, friendship networks, scout troops, athletic teams etc. In microsystems individuals form interpersonal relationships, assume social roles, and share activities. Setting is not simply a physical place but is an enduring set of relationships among individuals that may be associated with one or several places.
