Concept maps diagrams: the links among general concepts (at the top of the diagram) and specific concepts (lower down) are shown: useful for medical education. Students need to be actively involved in the learning process to produce adequate maps; 2. Concepts are shown as having several links or associations to eachother; 3. Concepts are reduced to one or 2 words within conept and mind maps, extracting the essence of their meaning and ignoring trivial details; 4. Mind maps (not concept) provide visual images that are easier to remember.
