In determining behaviour than individual personalities: a design can support/facilitate certain behaviours but cannot reliably determine them. The process of design: fostering communication: congruence: fit b/w buildings and their use, achieving greater congruence/habitability can be done by designing in flexibility to ensure the space can support many behaviours, design alternatives: different ways we can think of to design/redesign a setting. Privacy: personal space and territoriality are behavioural mechanisms that regulate privacy; crowding and loss of perceived control represent failures to achieve it, we are more worried about private conversations being heard than being seen.
