Earthly and mystical topics covered in one production, without showing any onstage violence. Typically performed in 4 acts with 3 acts that cover current issues as dramas or tragedies and 1 act comes from myth as a comedy. Originally just an all-male chorus as performers. Theatre is all about focus, which is helped through scenery, set design, and eventually lights. More is acted out, so they stage fights and problems for the audience. Perform in circular stage with walls called a colosseum. Vomitorium= hallway for actors to enter unseen by audience. Develop stock characters, who require more elaborate costuming. Most performers are mimes, minstrels, and jugglers. Most are also traveling acts because the society is in such political and economic upheaval.
