In this short and entertaining video of the bbc, one of plato"s most famous and controversial ideas is exposed, which he exposes in his book the republic, the notion that philosopher-kings should rule a state. This same approach has been used to determine that plato is an antidemocratic philosopher. However, this notion must be analyzed in more depth so as not to fall into extremes. This is why plato believes that the philosopher is the man qualified to govern, to maneuver the ship of the state. In our time, such moral incorruptibility seems utopian or simply ideal (the term has degenerated into our culture to mean something unreal). The foregoing, however, reveals more the state of our moral condition than an alleged error in plato"s judgment.
