Solvent- the dissolving agent or the most abundant component in the soluion. Solubility- an amount of solute that will dissolve in a speciic amount of solvent water under stated condiions. Miscible- capable of mixing and forming a soluion. Immiscible- incapable of mixing; immiscible liquids do not form a soluion with one another. Concentraion of a soluion- a quanitaive expression of the amount of dissolved solute in a certain quanity of solvent. Saturated soluion- a soluion containing dissolved solute in equilibrium with undissolved solute. Unsaturated soluion- a soluion containing less solute per unit volume than its corresponding saturated soluion.
