Police suicides: 145 suicide, less than those killed on the job. Incorruptible, well adjusted, people oriented, free of overly emotional reactions, dedicated, disciplined and logical. To increase alternatives for justice involved individuals who have a history of severe mental illness. Use teams for neighborhoods or areas instead of specific front line officers. Police officers interact with local citizens who support the police in creating a proactive, problem solving pproach to enhance the overall quality of life in a given area. Memory gets worse as retention period increases. Time between event and being asked to recall i t. Postevent information: info learned after the event can alter their memory of the event. System variables: within the control of law enforcement. Ie. instructions given and comp of line up. Estimator variable: outside the control of law enforcement. Postdiction variable: confidence and speed that a witness gives an identification.
