Brettler does a great job of describing myths, saying that, like metaphors, myths may literally be false, but figuratively are true (39) Division of the bible into versus (30: the mishnah supports dividing the bible into pesukim (breaking points) Discerning the bible"s literary units (31: ignore chapters, paragraphs, and verses, the bible should be read as one uninterrupted text, should be divided based on changes in style and content, looking for contradictions between verses (brettler 31) 1 uses the word created while chapter 2 uses the word. Formed : in chapter 1, god is referred to as god, whereas in chapter 2, God is referred to as the lord god: structure is different: Chapter 1: much more consistent and strategic with wording.
