Having standing to sue means have a valid reason to actually bring about a case. The plainti must allege a case or controversy between themselves and the defendant if the court is to hear the case. Plainti must have a personal stake in the outcome of the issue. A class-action suit is one in which a person les suit on his/her own behalf and on behalf of all other persons who may have a similar claim. Class action lawsuits lower the cost of litigation both for parties and the court system. Class actions are e e active when a large number of individuals have been harmed yet the harm to each individual is too minimal to warrant an individual case. However, as a class, they can e ciently bring about a change. The structure of class actions can lend themselves to abuse.
