Document Summary

Amnesia only has effects on explicit not implicit memory. The mere exposure eect: we have a preference for things we"ve already seen (even if it"s just a moment) Eagly and chaiken (1993) : showed relation of attitude favorability towards turkish words, chinese like characters, and photographs of men. With higher exposure frequency there was significantly higher favorability. Caillebotte effect (1848 1894) : people that had taken an art course or visited a museum in the past year found paintings more familiar or enjoyable. Mia et al. (1977): show people a photo of themselves or a friend, and show it mirrored. The friend prefers the photograph and self prefers the mirrored one. Permastore: what we remember after 3 years, we will remember all our lives. Caveats: the better something is learned the better it stays, but old age will catch up with you. Sometimes you don"t remember anything after 3 yrs, even if you think you do.
