Algorithms: the way to always get the right answer, methodically goes through each possible solution, time consuming. Availability heuristic: how frequently; based on examples of similar situations. When a plane crashes it is broadcasted all over the media for a while leading people to believe plane crashes are more likely to happen, because they have seen similar situations. Cognition: learned without specific instructions by parents have an inborn ability to learn. People kept in isolation for the beginning of their lives are still able to acquire language up to a certain age. Concept: similar to schemas, cognitive rules we apply to stimuli that allow us to categorize. Seeing a square always has the same number of sides, same length. Confirmation bias: tend to look for evidence that confirms our beliefs and ignore evidence that (cid:272)o(cid:374)tradi(cid:272)ts (cid:449)hat (cid:449)e (cid:271)elie(cid:448)e. e(cid:454).
