Description: this course surveys fundamental problems and concepts in painting, architecture, sculpture, design, printmaking, photography, and ceramics, among other forms of artistic expression. The introduction of the course discusses the range and characteristics of media that artists use and have used in the creative process. Subsequently, multiple approaches to the appreciation of art will be used to provide students with a framework for the analysis of visual documents. Based on this groundwork, we will study selected works of art from the beginnings of human civilization to the present day, with special emphases on such.
