He agreed but then she turned him down. He can"t take gifts back once he has given them. Now she has gift of prophecy and long life. She forgot to make sure that she stayed eternally young. Eventually wasted away until her body wasn"t visible. Person came to her and she gave him what he wanted, she told him she just wanted to die. Asked apollo for gift of prophecy to sleep with him. She decided not to go through with it. She can give accurate prophecies but no one will ever believe her. Her name is used to describe someone who is never believed. Apollo has successful physical relationship with her.
