Rpt. from "the impact of food advertising on childhood obesity. " This article tells of how fast food advertising is contributing to childhood obesity. The article starts with the current percentage of obese children in america. It then goes on to say how these advertisements affect a child"s preference when it comes to food. The article then presents examples of how these advertisements impact behavioral and mental health of children. The article then lists how television and online ads can also attribute to obesity. The article ends with the ways kids are influenced by fast food ads at school also. "sloth, not ads, is responsible for fat kids. " This article suggests that it is not food advertising that is causing childhood obesity, but rather a lack of physical activity is the cause. Berman argues that a contributing factor to this is schools cutting back on classes dealing with physical education.
