Pain and suffering is something that the world cannot avoid, whether it is natural or man-made. About a boy, the characters all seem to go through some type of hurt or misery. Their anguish crosses paths and, without knowing it, their pain and suffering is the motivation for change in their lives. Pain and suffering helped gilgamesh, from the epic of gilgamesh change as well. Fiona brewer, marcus"s mom, attempted to commit suicide after a lifetime of sadness and crying. She thought that her depression was just too much to handle. Her suicide did not go as planned and since she survived she realized that she needed to change, not only for marcus but for herself as well. Fiona joined a club called spat, which stood for single parents all together and it definitely seemed to help. She started to understand how her depression stood in the way of her relationship with her son marcus and how disconnected they were.
