Document Summary
He has a dream of finding the city of troy. He goes to asia minor and finds this hill that fits the description. He begins to dig and as he"s digging he find these huge stone walls. He finds evidence of a small, heavily fortified city. He finds evidence it was a city destroyed by fire. One day he couldn"t sleep so he decided to go out and dig by himself, and he found lots of gold. It gets out that he has found troy, however everyone thinks wtf troy isn"t real. All the gold was unique, and the shit he found was astounding to scholars. Today scholars do believe it is troy that he found. He destroyed much of the city as he digs it up: he looks for these other cities from the iliad that the kings of troy came from. He found the city of mycenae it"s a small heavily fortified city with huge walls.
