Management 3211/1&2 spring 2015 office hours: mw 10 a. m. - noon. This course investigates issues raised by the ethical dimensions of the relationship between business and its social context. Our emphasis will be on the quality of the reasoning and reflection processes rather than on arriving at some favored ethical judgment. Tom l. beauchamp, norman e. bowie, and denis g. arnold: ethical theory and business, 8th ed. , prentice hall. Assigned readings in beauchamp, bowie, and arnold (bba) are indicated below under. White: elements of style, 4th ed. , allyn & bacon; john c. hodges: You are expected to attend class, to carefully read assignments prior to the class meetings for which they are assigned, and to be prepared to discuss and ask questions about the assigned material. Occasionally we will break into small groups and informally discuss the assigned material and then, individually, write a brief answer to a question about it.
