While it is steady, it is slower than earlier time. Born - triple there weight by age 2. Age 2 - average child approximately 25-30lbs & close to 36 in. Age 6 - average weight is 46lbs & average height is 46 in. Still gaining weight, but more active so less weight gain. Very little difference/variation between 2 y o preschoolers. Changes during later part of preschool period i. e. , preschoolers become less alike. Ex - boys grow taller & on average weigh more than girls. Ex - individuals from families living below poverty level are shorter in height & weigh less. Age 3 most active age in a person"s life. Rate of growth slower in preschool years than infancy so preschoolers need - food to maintain growth.
