Thespis- wrote and acted in a play that won the competition. He created theater by stepping from a dithyramb chorus and playing an individual role. Choregos- a wealthy citizen who financed the production. Skene- a building behind the orchestra which served as a dressing room and storage space and its front fa ade was used as a backdrop for productions. Prologue- a short speech or scene by one or more actos that sets the location and time and provides the necessary mythological exposition. Parodos- entrance of the chorus to the orchestra. Stasimon- following each episode, contained more songs and dances by the chorus as it comments on the action of the play thus far. Exodus- a summation by the chorus on the theme and wisdom of the play/
