Dolly notes how everything in anna and vronsky"s house is so new and expensive. Dolly asks anna how they have dealt with the name of anna and vronsky"s child. Anna says that annie (the kid) is a karenina. Dolly can tell that anna"s visit to annie is rare. Dolly feels not exactly ashamed but embarrassed around the people in the house because she feels "less than" Vronsky is excited to show dolly his hospital that he is having built. Vronsky takes dolly for a talk and begs her to ask anna to ask karenin for a divorce.
