Document Summary

Language is the basis of human communication, it allows us to express ourselves and understand others; and depending on how we use it, we are going to build and interpret the world differently. If we attend to a strict definition of the term: it is a set of sounds or signals through which we express what we think or what we feel. It is also the style of speaking and writing of each individual person. Various authors have studied language in all its forms. Russian psychologist lev vygotsky analyzed his fundamental role in development; in his theories, he states that through social interaction, knowledge is acquired and that allows us to think in increasingly complex ways. Therefore, with our minors we have to be especially careful to make appropriate use of language (especially in the field of education and psychology) since the way we use words can change their perceptions.
