Groups are responsible for generating plans to carry out previously made decisions made by others. Ex: a family planning tasks for a vacation. Group responsible for generating ideas and/or alternatives. 2 objectives to be considered: technique should not create social influences that could inhibit individual creativity, technique should provide social support/reinforcement or rewards for participating. Where the groups objective is to reach conclusions through info sharing. Members negotiate when there is a different viewpoint that are tough to resolve. More complex and time consuming when not all group members share a common interest, goal, or motive. When members engage in physical activity (measured against standards of excellence) Convo with the goal of seeing things holistically. Retaining connections among parts, learning about others & their viewpoints. When members search for common solutions (through informal interaction) Task difficulty based on the amount of effort, knowledge, or skill needed. Solution multiplicity # of alternatives available for solving a problem.
