Lots of statistics and facts may be hard to understand. So providing this information in a more concise manner like a chart makes it easier for the audience to understand. Improve ability of the audience to remember the information in the presentation. Audiences only remember about 20% of what they hear. They remember about 50% of what they hear and see. Aids have shown to make presentations more effective. Can increase the persuasiveness of a presentation by about 40% Affect audience"s perceptions of speaker: better prepared, more credible, more professional, more dynamic. Speaker can relax because focus of the audience is on the visual aid and not as much on the speaker. Numerical data is difficult to communicate verbally.
